Things to think about

There are always two people in every photograph - the photographer and the viewer. Ansel Adams.
This is borrowed from Pablo Picasso and he wrote it about painting. It applies equally well to photography and gives us all something to aim for. He wrote "There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot, but there are others who, thanks to their art and intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun."
